Happy Post Spring Break,
I hope that everyone had a restful spring break. The six ensembles at State Large Ensemble and all of the solos and ensembles had a very successful two days!!
We will now start to concentrate on the Spring Concert. We will be having a Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction, and Jazz Band Concert
A night of music, food, fun, and prizes. All proceeds support the Washington Highschool Band Program. This will take place after the concert in the gym. Flyer Below:

We are approaching another busy week.
Our students have been working towards these two events since the beginning of the year. State Large Ensemble (Concert Band Contest) is on Friday and District Solo and Ensemble on Saturday.
Both events take place on the campus of East Central Community College in Union. Parents are welcome to come and watch the performances if they are available.
We will be busing the kids over to ECC on Friday, but we do not have a bus on Saturday. The driving form for Saturday is attached below.

The rescheduled concert will take place on February 25th, at 2:30pm, at the HS Gym.
Good Morning Band Family,
Because or our recent weather, we have another cancellation to announce regarding the band concert today.
Due to poor road conditions and the amount of families traveling from around the area to see the concert. We have decided to reschedule the concert that was scheduled for today.
There will NOT be a concert today at 2:30pm. Please stay safe until the roads are clear. We will announce a rescheduled date on Monday.

We will NOT be attending the MCCGA Competition at Edwardsville today due to weather concerns.
Instead, we will make use of this time to prepare for our WGI competition at Francis Howell North next week. Thank you for your understanding and we will be dismissing at 3pm today to give students time to get home safely.

The winter band concert for all high school band students will be Sunday, February 11th at 2:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Washington High School Gym. Please have your student here at 2:00 for a warm-up before the concert.
It is requested that all students wear nice clothes if at all possible. Jeans are not permitted for the performance. We ask that all young ladies wear slacks, dress shoes, nice shirt. We ask that all young men wear slacks, dress shoes, nice shirt (tie if possible please). Please no dresses, skirts, tennis shoes, sweat pants, hoodies, or shorts. We reserve the right to not let your student perform based upon the student’s attire. The uniform Wind Ensemble is all black attire.
All parents, grandparents, family, and friends are invited to attend. Please have the students at the High School with their instruments no later than 2:00 p.m. for a rehearsal with all the groups.

Good Morning Band Family,
We would like to announce our Spring Trip for next year! (2019) We take the band on a trip every two years. We will be bringing the HS Band to Disney World in Florida. All students enrolled in both semesters, grades 9-12 are eligible to journey to Florida with the Band. We will have more information in the later weeks, but we are looking to set our prices now to keep prices low. Thank you, Mr. Lovell |
